Via email, the SF Chronicle is asking "Two Cents" participants:

"Has anything especially good or especially bad ever happened to you at a Starbucks?"

No-one actually likes Starbucks coffee. I wouldn't go there either but for the one on 18th Street in the Castro. It doesn't matter what you're drinking there, though - you're not there for the coffee!

*grin* Having got used to Italian coffee in Sydney, Starbucks always seems to me too bitter - instead of being silky and smooth, I feel they overroast the beans and they end up being a little too unpleasant. And I find that they tend to cover it up by adding lots of sugary items.

But then that's just what I got used to as I grew up. I've had discussions with people that love their coffee bitter.
