One of the reasons I love LJ is that someone will mention something that reminds you of something you haven't thought of in awhile. I often go from LJ to iTunes to download a song, or go on over to Amazon. Today [livejournal.com profile] bearbrat mention Allo! Allo!, one of my favorite Britcoms. I was pleased to find that it's now out on DVD.

The other day, [livejournal.com profile] bearringsd mentioned that he had watched Longtime Companion for the first time. I haven't seen this movie in at least 5 years.

I dug it out tonight. My VHS copy was still in the original shrinkwrap. The previous copy I had was taped from HBO. I ordered this copy at least 5 years ago.

This movie still brings me to tears. This time, I started crying halfway through it. Especially as the dates flashed on the screen. I made note of one date, and it was before I acquired HIV. The next date was after the fact. The scene at the end always makes me cry. This time I was sobbing. It's for that reason that I prefer to see this movie alone.

One message of the film is to live life to the fullest. That's something that has been on my mind a lot lately. One I need to hear often.

I've never seen Longtime Companion because I know I'll end up a big ol' mess. I didn't even make it twenty minutes into Philadelphia and that was awful.

You don't live life to the fullest? Geez, what more could you do?

What [livejournal.com profile] excessor said re: living life.

Reading about the different things you do exhausts me.
