My crutches are such a crutch!
Oct. 8th, 2007 10:19 amWith Steve back from Europe, he helps a lot. A LOT. I had been feeling good about being fairly self-sufficient during his absence. Amazing how that feeling can quickly go away.
After some painful days with my new boot, I figured out some ways to fix that. After cleaning my wound every day, I'm to put on the gauze pad and wrap it with an ACE bandage. Well, the ACE bandage was super long. Quite frankly, it made my ankle look fat, and that will NOT do. I trimmed off some of the length, and it fits much better. (And my ankle feels sexier.) Instead of putting on a regular length sock over the ACE bandage, I switched to a quarter-top sock that doesn't interfere. Much less pain.
With the Castro Street Fair yesterday, I just stayed home, since my bus was re-routed. What a drag! My WiFi was acting up for awhile, so it was mostly a TV day. Steve was out to a party, the fair, bars (um, etc.), all day.
I'm looking forward to escaping the house today!
