The temp work yesterday consisted of entering an address book onto the computer. I figured I'd see a bunch of A-list people. Yep. I did see the home address and phone number for a former billionaire employer of mine. I guess it would be wrong to call and see if he could help out an unemployed former worker.

There are several more hours worth of work to do, so I went in this morning to hopefully finish it up. Unfortunately, there is a little matter of not having the password. A call to my boss lady's cell phone went unanswered, so I had to leave the work for another day. I could go in this afternoon, but after two hours of commuting already, tomorrow just works out better for both of us.

My bus goes right by Great Tan on Union Street, so I got off to visit [livejournal.com profile] enhydrasf. (As opposed to visiting [livejournal.com profile] enhydrasf to get off.) It was a really nice space at Great Tan. Hopefully that spot will work out well for them.

Walkies?

Steve and I walked to May's M&L Market for lunch today. There are only three tables there, and there is usually a long line. Today, we got there at 12:35pm. There was one person in line, and no one seated at the tables. Bizarre. Things picked up closer to 1pm.

After lunch, we walked down to SportMart at 13th & Folsom. (Lots of walking today!) Steve picked up a couple new pairs of sneakers. Next time that I need sneaks, that seems to be the place to go.

After that, we went to Best Buy. My wireless connection has been intermittent. Sometimes, I've had to physically move my laptop to get a signal. My previous router was about 4 years old. We replaced it with a Linksys WRT54GX2 that has "SRX200 Speed and Range eXpansion." It installed fairly easily, and my signal strength and speed are both better. Yay.

For security, which is better: WEP or WPA? I used WEP, Open not Shared.

There is an aggressive Beggerwoman (a B, for short) whom I see at least once a day in the Castro, and sometimes elsewhere. She often begs in front of Starbears to get money for an iced coffee. She sometimes even goes inside Starbears to each table to beg. She is very annoying and aggressive. We hate her.

On the way home from Best Buy today, we caught the #33 at 16th & Harrison. At 18th & Mission, I heard the driver get into an argument with someone trying to board the bus. It was a B. She had $1 and asked people to give her fifty cents more for bus fare. The driver told her that even if she paid, he wouldn't let her on the bus. He said that she causes problems on his bus every day, and he wasn't going to let her board. (I love him.) The driver had to physically get up and block her. He was a really big guy. It made me glad to see that other people hate her, too. She's one of the reasons we have laws against aggressive panhandlers. We like 'em passive.
