Full Saturday
Aug. 8th, 2004 12:23 amDid the usual Saturday morning stuff of coffee and newspaper reading. Steve then made a nice breakfast.
Ben came over and played me some of his songs. Some great stuff. It was a beautiful day, so the three of us went to the backyard and played a couple games of Scrabble. Then off to the Cove for lunch. New menus. Higher prices. No more vegetarian chef salad. But they did have tomato soup today. Mmmmmm. A brief stop at Starbears, then Steve and I came home before heading out to the Lone Star. It was the Mister Lone Star contest. John had it as a "Mama" event, so he didn't request my help. Fine. I still thought it best to show up for awhile. I was at the beerbust for two hours and drank diet cola. That's just sad. There were four contestants. I really would have like to have been a judge this time so I could ask one particular person, "So even though we've met elsewhere several times, why is it that whenever I say hello to you in the Lone Star, you pretend I don't exist?"
We left around 5:30pm to head down the peninsula. We grabbed dinner at Chili's, then headed to El Camino Reelers for the Mike Desisto dance. I danced every tip. It was a fun night. Got to dance with
excessor TWICE. Except for Steve, I try to dance with someone different every tip, but I had some bad karma to pay off or something, so double-duty with Paul seemed required. Only a couple other people in my life can make me laugh as much as Paul does. He pretends my insults are my way of teasing. Isn't that cute??
