Steve and I are going to see "Lucky Stiff" on Friday at 8pm in Pacifica. Details are at http://www.pacificaspindriftplayers.org/.

Feel free to order tickets and join us. Let me know if you want to carpool.

If you've been to one of my sing-a-longs, you've most likely heard me play the song "Nice." It's from this show. Also from the show is the song "Times Like This," which I sometimes play. It's the song where Steve usually ends up howling like a dog. (It's times like this, I sure could use a dog.)

The show is by the same people who did Ragtime and Seussical. I saw this show in London. It's a cute show for a small theatre with some fun songs.

Nate came over yesterday for a bit and we played through some Wicked and tick tick Boom. Then we went to lunch at Firewood. Why do I bother ordering salmon, when I know that it won't come close to being as good as Steve's?

After a stop at Starbears, we headed to Friends School for an afternoon of square dancing with Andy Shore )

After dancing, I went to the Lone Star around 7pm. No line. Whew. Decent crowd inside. I ran into Raul, which was a pleasant surprise. I haven't seen him for awhile, but I had received a great email from him just last week. Got to see some pleasant nakedness on the back patio. A couple musclebears were dropping trou. The scenery in San Francisco is fantastic. I love my City.

Cross-posted for the two of you who do not yet read [livejournal.com profile] lowfatmuffin's blog.

Picnic in Dolores Park on Noon - September 11th.

Bring a picnic potluck dish and your camera - we are going to try and get as many gay male LJers in one photograph as possible.

If you are visiting the Bay Area - or can get there for the CONVERGENCE - do so!

The treadmill people couldn't arrange for delivery. The treadmill is heading back to the warehouse, and my credit card was promptly credited. I'm bummed. I'm going to continue to look on Craigslist. After finding one, I'll just jump back on Craigslist to find someone to move it for me.

When I got the Ella Fitzgerald CD of the Cole Porter songbooks (combined volume 1 & 2), I didn't realize that Steve already had volume 1. Luckily, he informed me before I opened the CD. We took that back to Tower today (after running into [livejournal.com profile] xlgmeat). I did pick up volume 2 and got store credit for the difference.

The "other version" of the Wicked songbook arrived today. This version is the "piano accompaniment" version rather than the "melody included in the piano accompaniment." I've yet to play through all the songs. It makes some songs easier to play, and others more difficult. Like the first version, this one is going to take some practice. There is enough of a difference to make for two different piano experiences. (The vocal part seems to be identical.) It's pretty unusual to have the two different versions.
