Outta the blue
May. 5th, 2009 09:55 pmBefore I left work, I saw an email with an employee's name in the title. She now works in the other office, so I didn't bother reading it. I figured it was yet another promotion for her or else she had died of swine flu.
I had kinda convinced myself this evening that it must have been a tragic death, so I logged on to check the work email.
Turns out she was laid off. I'm very surprised. She was very bright, friendly, and we have open (lower level) positions available in our own group that she has done previously. Now I'm just pissed. I'd like to see many other employees let go instead of her.
The email "reassures" us that this is the only layoff for our group for the rest of the calendar year. Right, like I can trust that B.
