Topdog / Underdog / What a dog
Oct. 30th, 2003 08:50 amFinally got a breather at work yesterday. Still too busy to get off to the gym, but busy, nonetheless. And my boss was out "sick" yesterday, which is always a pleasure. They collected $10 from us on Tuesday in order to pay for a catered lunch on Wednesday at noon. I show up at the conference room (on a different floor) at 12:02pm. No food, and a couple people waiting. I return at 12:20pm. No food and more people waiting. Screw them. It was to be a "holiday" luncheon. Yeah, Trick or Treat, and I was the one tricked. I just went back to my desk. No one ever came to say the food was here, so I copped an attitude and took a walk outside.
I stopped at Cliff's after work. I found an as-is synthetic blonde wig for $5, even though I doubt we'll be going out for Halloween. I wanted to go as "Girls Gone Wild." Easy costume. Wear the wig, shorts, a t-shirt with the front pulled over my head, Mardi Gras beads, and a sign around my neck (covering my breasts) with the Girls Gone Wild logo. I'd yell "Spring Break" every now and then lift up the sign to reveal a small black strip across my tits that says "Too hot for TV!"
Steve hasn't been feeling well. He's developing a cold or something. (The main reason we probably won't go out on Halloween.) He napped for a couple hour after I got home. Then we caught Muni downtown and ate dinner at Max's near The Curran.
We saw "Topdog/underdog" as part of our theatre season tickets. A two-man show. The theatre was pretty empty. Probably only season ticketholders, and not even all of 'em. I was totally bored. I thought the writing was not clever, and you can figure out from the very beginning how it is going to end. I cannot believe it won a Pulitzer Prize. I wish we had left at intermission, like the pair in front of us did. Caught a cab home and watched "West Wing" that Steve had taped.
