Pigs Don't Fly
May. 25th, 2003 08:40 amOn Friday, my boss never called for a one-on-one that she told me she'd do. Bitch. I don't even think she was in the office on Friday. Certainly fine with me. Just more ammunition against her.
John had sent an email to Gizelle and Jim, my VP, about the wonderful job that Debra, Michael and I did with our presentation. Both of them emailed us back with nice notes. Jim forwarded it to the SVP, and she sent us a nice note, too. Always nice to hear praise. Gizelle said she wants to see the presentation. Good! I hope we do it for her. Then she can see that Debra does nothing (for which she won an award) and Michael is dry. My part of the presentation is what makes it fun, and I enjoy doing it.
I got home about 4:30pm. Steve was supposed to come up and go shopping at Costco with me. He showed up at 5:30pm and needed a nap. He got up around 6pm and he didn't want to do Costco. There's always the next day. Instead, we went out to The Edge for happy hour. We hadn't been there on Friday in a LONG time. None of the Bear Lush crowd, but still pretty crowded. I chatted mostly with Jeff & Bill & Jim C. Jim Gatteau came up to Steve and me. He made some lame comment about Steve looking handsome tonight. Steve replied, "I always do." LOL. Good comeback. Jim beggingly asked if I was having a party next week. Obviously he did NOT receive an invitation. I enthusiastically replied that "Yes, I am having a party! I'm going to be 40, and Steve's gonna be 40-Plus!" Of course, no invite then followed. I've only got room for so many, and I know he needs to get up early for Sister Betty's party. Yeah, that's it. I'm just looking out for his best interests. Not. Which is ruder? Begging an invite for a party, or ignoring the plea and not doing an invite? My guess is that writing about it in your blog is even ruder.
Ross & Rich were also at The Edge, so I chatted with them. Big-dicked Steve came up and propositioned them for a 3-way. Rich was cutely embarassed and declined. He blushes easily. He said something earlier in the evening that prompted me to grab his crotch as an improper, but funny, response. He blushed. He later told me that I was the first guy he's let do that. Jesus. Oh well, maybe he's getting more relaxed, at least around me. I invited them both to my party. Ross will be gone, so I'm not sure if Rich will show.
The Edge had Gary Virginia doing some announcements. He kept offering free shots or t-shirts or happy hour prices if guys took off their shirts or showed their cocks, etc. It made for a real fun time. Hopefully this will be a regular Friday night addition.
We went out to China Court for a late dinner. Soup, pot stickers, chow mein, and beef/snow peas. Anything tastes great when you're tipsy. Steve had been drinking bourbon and water, so he was especially tipsy. He gets so cute. We got home and played Fluxx for awhile. I'm enjoying that.
On Saturday we got up and I played the piano for a long time while Steve got showered and dressed. I played some songs that I haven't played in years. It's so great to have a full-size piano. The accoustics are really good. We then went to Bed Bath & Beyond. We each spent a couple hundred dollars on household items. We filled the car and went to Costco. We got a hot dog there for lunch, then we checked out the party platters. Looks like we'll be able to get most of our party food there next week.
We got home and unloaded the car. Inbetween hands of Fluxx, we did one chore each. Most hands don't take too long, so we did get a lot done. I got my new drawers assembled, and Steve assembled his closet stuff. We got the piano moved off of the area rug, which I'll be moving to the basement. Looks much nicer with just the wall-to-wall carpeting in the livingroom. Arthur was over to his place. This is moving weekend for him. We got to meet his partner, Steve. So many Steves!
My Steve napped, then we went to Capri Pizza for dinner. I ordered the Spinoccoli, which was good. Lately I've been craving broccoli. About 8pm, Steve said, "Aren't we supposed to be at a show tonight." SHIT. I totally forgot about When Pigs Fly. Another $63.50 down the toilet. Guess we'll try to see it next week. My age must be catching up with me.
We stopped at Cala on the way home and got some stuff to make breakfast on Sunday morning. We played Fluxx for awhile, then we watched several episodes of Sex and the City that Steve had recorded. Got to bed around midnight. I didn't get enough sleep, but Steve was wanting coffee about 7:15pm. Got up, made that, fetched the paper, then started putting away stuff to proper places that I had just shoved in drawers when I moved in. Hopefully Steve has finished the paper and has started making breakfast. Guess I'd better check!
