I went to lunch late yesterday and I stopped by the Lone Star to invite Danny to next week's party. He gets off at 7pm that night, so he said he'd probably be able to make it. :-)

I stopped at Best Buy to look at digital camcorders and a laptop to accomodate it. I had checked out camcorders online, but Best Buy usually has weird selections of everything. The laptop I saw online that would fit my needs was on sale, but none were in stock, naturally. Maybe I'll look around this weekend. I may just buy online to avoid the taxes. It'd be great to have the camera prior to next week's party.

I got back to work after lunch, and Debra had just left a phonemail. I called her back. Seems that her new boss Gizelle held a meeting for our new group while I was at lunch. My boss hadn't noticed that I was not on the email distribution list. Bitch. A meeting with a new group is not something to miss. I asked her to get me added to the distribution list for the future. Not trusting her, I emailed the new manager to say I was sorry that I missed the meeting and to add me to the email distribution list. She read the email but didn't respond. Grrrr. I'm totally pissed off.

I went to the Oral Surgeon after work for a consultation about tooth implants. He had extracted ol' number 15 in January, so this was a follow up. Lolita took my x-rays and made some wax impression of my teeth. Later, "patient care consultant" Rick came in and explained the whole implant procedure. He was a lil pocket cub. A bit nerdy, but he had a nice goatee. All the men in that office are gay I think. My oral surgeon was the last to come in. He asked if I had already had enough things in my mouth for the day. Caught offguard, I stammered, but managed to say "not necessarily." Dr. Haines is damned cute for a clean-shaven guy. He felt around in my mouth, and I had to suppress moans. He does it so erotically. I'm sure he does that on purpose. I think I'm gonna make Steve don rubber gloves and play oral surgeon. Unless you wanna do it?

I got home around 5:15pm. I played the piano for a bit. It's great! Loud, but great! The neighbors are going to hate me!

We left a bit after six to go to dinner at Goat Hill Pizza. We found it ok, and got there right at 6:30pm as scheduled. Bill was there with Jeff. I had met Jeff before briefly, but didn't remember his name or anything. He's quite the furry beast. They didn't know that Jim had invited us, so that was a bit awkward, since Jim wasn't there yet. Jim showed up after about 5 minutes. We all shared a meat lovers pizza and a Mediterranean pizza. Both were good. I liked their thick, salty crust. From there, we walked a couple blocks down to Thick House for the show. We saw 2 one-act plays. The first one was "Ode to a Cupcake." It had two characters and was about 20-minutes long. The woman who played the waitress was great. The man was so-so. The story was ok. The second show was "Metroplex." Leo was in it, playing a real nerdy guy. The scene was a movie theatre during opening credits. It had 9 actors (one offstage) and lasted an hour. The play was fairly well written, although it had room for improvement. The author was a young college kid, so that was impressive. What was amazing was how strong ALL the actors were. I can't remember a show where every single one of the actors did such a good job. Usually you have one or two that is only so-so or downright bad. Not the case here. Leo did such a good job as a weirdo that I considered dis-inviting him from my party, LOL.

We got home around 10:30pm. Steve and I played Fluxx for awhile. I hadn't played before. It's obviously better for more than 2 players, but it was still fun. Some of it was a bit confusing to me (the rules of the game keep changing based on "new rules" cards), but we managed. Hopefully we can find someone who's played it a lot to help explain some of those "new rules." (More of a timing issue of how the rules apply to the person taking the turn at that moment versus the other players.) We played until around midnight. I took out the trash and crashed. I slept until 5:45am. I got up briefly, then crashed until 7am.

Got up, checked emails, made coffee, read the comics, then off to work. Another nice, sunny morning. Got to work, and John had emailed. He was back from Vegas. We traded a half dozen emails, and I invited him to the party. He said he's not a good party person, but I explained how his woofiness would get me kudos. He said he might drop by, looking for a husband or a Lewinsky. ;-) Gotta love work email. He did say that he'd send a glowing email to my bosses about the great job I did for him during his absence. Cool.

Gizelle finally replied "ok" that she'd add me to the email distribution. No apology or anything. I'm pretty offended. Mostly by my own boss. Bitch.

I ordered tickets to go see "When Pigs Fly" tomorrow night. I enjoyed it in New York. Hopefully the costumes will be just as fabulous at this production. Steve likes some of the songs, but the costumes are what makes the show, so I hope he gets a kick out of it.

Well, lots of work to do today, so back to the grind...
