Had a nice time at the LJ picnic today. The weather was great for it.

Next time we may have to do an evite thing in order to help spread out the types of food people bring. Bears like to bring cookies! Some of the best stuff was from Safeway. Especially those chocolate chewie [sic] cookies! Most dishes were yummy, although the bran muffins didn't seem too popular with the crowd.

Thanks to those of you who made the effort to attend. Great to see you!

Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] daved010 for giving me & Steve a ride! Hope to return the favor soon...

Evite seems a good option to get a more diverse spread. I was thinking of a pasta salad, but I went right for the cookies - bad me :(

Well, there were already two pasta salads, so cookies was the better option! Yum!

[livejournal.com profile] boyshapedbox brought some jalapeno poppers that were great. I also had some tasty chicken.

Having Chinese delivered might be a fun option.

And the catered event down the hill looked nice too.

It was nice to see you, even if just for a few minutes. A shame we can't sign your "cast"!

I should get a proper cast after the staples are removed next week.

I'm telling some guys that they can sign my penis. You're in luck, cuz I'm having to limit it to 2-letter names.

Heh! I don't think the bran muffins were meant to be popular.

Exactly! They were such a great substitute, well, for anything!

it's the first one we missed--Steve had class and I was classless but sick. :-(

Hmmm---catering it might not be a bad idea rather than potluck next year. For a nominal fee to cover ingredients, I daresay you'd get enough LJ volunteers to do it.

A group named Bay Area Physicians for Human Rights (BAPHR) was having a catered party just down the hill from us. I thought about crashing it just to see what kind of food was being served, but the I listened to the angel on my right shoulder and decided against it.

Ya know, Sean and I walked by really late (about 2:30pm) and saw some folks, but I didn't recognize anyone and was not sure if it was the LJ crowd or not? Jason (fogbear) just told me you saw me walk by. Shoot, sorry I missed it! We were in a hurry because the dog had to go potty and had to stop down the street. We should have stopped! :-(

Thanks for putting it together Gary! I haven't been in a couple of years and it was a lot of fun.
