Monday square dancing comes to an end

fuzzygrufLast night's WSD was another bust. Ron showed up around 7:20pm instead of 7pm. Next week is his last night of calling for awhile, and it seems he's a bit burned out. He didn't bother trying to resolve the square last night. Nobu continues to screw up most Plus calls. Luckily, the only other students there, Daryl and Ammon, do fine. Matt and Fred and Tomas continue to give Angels a bad name. It just makes it harder on the students. With enough for a square and a half, Don & I did a square with 6 phantoms a few times. With Ron's slow calling, it's not much fun. He did teach the last of the Plus calls, and next Monday is their "completion" ceremony. They definitely were not adequately prepared in this class for "real" Plus dancing. They got ripped off.
The highlight of Monday at WSD was leftovers from a rummage sale. They had lots of dresses on the rack. The workers at EVRC told the guys they could take whatever they wanted. Bob, Ammon, Fred, and others tried on the dresses. Those sillies. After class, Don & I went to Starbucks to wait for Bob who was moving his car. Bearbucks had closed at 9pm due to inventory. We just went home instead.
With no more Monday square dancing for me after next week, I'll have a free night. Steve's away on Monday evenings for a weekly meeting, so I'll have to come up with something constructive to do. Maybe I'll schedule sing-a-longs more frequently. WSD is trying to start a class elsewhere, but if it's out of the Castro, I'm not willing to make the trip for such a sucky club.
