And that was the weekend...
Sep. 22nd, 2003 09:28 amFairly uneventful weekend. On Saturday I spent a good deal of time cleaning out my closet in the den. I gave up on the Elfa drawers for my t-shirts. Just too many. I went to Bed Bath & Beyond to look for some shelving. I looked and looked. Nothing seemed right. I left empty-handed.
I went to Trader Joe's and got some Hansen's diet soda. I also got some white chocolate with 0 net carbs. Bad choice. I'm sure those sugar alcohol things work for mice, but not on me. I was up sick most of the night.
After Trader Joe's, I stopped at Best Buy. Nothing. I did see someone in the parking lot who looked like
xlgmeat, so that was a good visual. I went across the street to Office Max and found some bookcases on sale. Same brand as the larger ones I had ordered for the basement. I got two of them. Got home, assembled them, and proceeded to refold my t-shirts. They fit fine on the shelves, with enough room to buy a few more, LOL. Moving these bookcases to my one closet, I was able to make room in the other closet for Steve to have another hanging rod.
I thought Michael was working at Cala from 6-10pm, so I headed down there for a couple items. Didn't see him. Just came home and watched some TV.
Got up Sunday and read the newspaper. Then I went to church. Junior showed up in his garanimals outfit again. With few places left to sit, he ended up sitting next to me. He's always nice in asking "where's Steve?" Some of the sermon was about grattitude. One thing Penny said that stuck out to me was that grattitude enables you to want the things you already have.
After church, I heated up some chicken for lunch and watched some TV. About 3:30pm I went down to Steve's and filled up his car with stuff. His trash was full, so I put that out to the curb. That means I need to make another trip down there today to put the trash bin back in the garage. It's obvious that Steve's going to need more than that one additional hanging rod I gave him. I'll need to clear out the downstairs closet to make room. My livingroom is full of junk from Steve's. I've got to work hard this week to get it put away before he returns from Spain on Saturday.
I've been getting periodic emails from Steve. Apparently, Spain is not as "wired" as Bali. He said that he met someone who had exchanged emails with me before. Small world.
On Muni this morning, I ran into Carrie. She was in the apartment next door to me when I lived at the mansion. She said the new guy in my apartment seemed nice. I noticed last week that the one after me had moved out already, and I saw that someone had moved in over the weekend. She said two more apartments were available there, but ol' Baum isn't lowering the rents, so they are having a hard time finding tenants.
