The Graduate
Sep. 4th, 2003 12:30 pmI finally figured out one of my work projects yesterday. The solution was frightfully simple. I had been misled by the original developer, so I was seeking wrong answers. If I were able to just buckle down and not get so distracted, I'd have found it sooner. After waking up with a sick feeling about work, it was nice leaving with a good feeling for a change.
Got home and started gathering stuff to pack for this weekend in Guerneville. Amazing how much stuff I pack for a naked weekend.
Steve cooked filet mignon for dinner. Very tender. Very tasty.
We left a bit after 7pm to catch Muni to Powell Station. We got to the Curran Theatre around 7:40pm. The theatre was incredibly warm. Jerry Hall must want it that way to keep her nipples from getting erect. We left our stuff on our seats and heading outside to get some air until showtime at 8pm. I'd seen The Graduate on TV long ago, but never the stage version. Steve didn't care for the story, but I thought it was ok. Jerry Hall was very convincing. She kinda reminded me of Debbie Harry in Hairspray. The show was staged with a theme of slatted closet doors. I enjoy themed staging. At one point, the father was cleaning the pool. The edge of the stage had a single neon turquoise band of light, and he was "cleaning" off the edge. Very effective. The ending was very anticlimatic. For a play, I enjoyed it. Luckily, I get an all-out musical next week with 42nd Street.
Got home at 11pm. Watched a rerun of West Wing on Bravo. Off to bed at midnight. I had a horrible dream of Steve (but not really Steve) breaking up with me for no real reason. It made no sense. I was glad to wake up and find him next to me.
The Canon Elph S230 was delivered yesterday. Hope Steve can figure it out ok for his trip to Spain. The pocket-size camera should be good for travelling.
I ordered bookshelves from OfficeMax via phone today. Normally $50 each, I got 'em 3 for $80. The website didn't show the sale price, so I had to get an override via phone. Should be delivered Friday. Hopefully before we leave to Guerneville!
