Went home briefly at lunch yesterday. I used some carpet cleaner and vacuumed the livingroom carpet. Looks like some minor stains were removed. I cleaned the glass on the display cabinets. I moved the oriental rug out from the sofa a bit in order to avoid excessive wear.

Returning to work, the #33 bus was coming to the stop as I was getting reading to cross to Storrie. I caught it down to Castro to save a couple minutes. The annex to Cliff's has re-opened. I went in to check it out. Almost identical to how it was before. Guess the change was mostly to give them upstairs office space.

I ran into Todd on the corner by Twin Peaks. He always has the best gossip. He said that on Sunday night, some jilted guy falsely called 911 to report a fire at the Lone Star. When the firemen arrived, he yelled something, then left. Danny and a fireman tracked him down at The Eagle and had him arrested.

Did more testing on my project at work. No headway. [livejournal.com profile] qbear told me about layoffs in his department last week. Witten emailed my work email address and told me about another Schwabbie who was let go on Friday.

Someone from Business 2.0 emailed me to ask for input about an article he's writing on Schwab. He had seen some feedback I posted to an article that appeared on CNN's site last week. It'll be interesting to see what he's writing about.

Chip and John came over around 5pm. It was my first time to hear Chip play the piano. He's really brilliant. I ran into my neighbor Jawn this morning, and he remarked how nice Chip sounded. Steve got home around 6pm. Chip went to feed the dog for whom they're housesitting, and Steve, John, and I went to Firewood. Then we went to FCD and met up again with Chip there.

The FCD class was ok. I'll stick to my earlier statement that the attractive students do much better than the ugly ones. Maybe because the good angels grab up the hotties first? Maybe it's just due to a general self-esteem thing. I ended up in a square with one of the poorer dancers. Wow. I'll be very surprised if he makes it through.

Completely off-topic but...

Just wanted to say hello, stranger! I'm a lj person too now. Say hello sometime. I checked out your website not too long ago and have been reading a few of your entries ever since. Hope you're well! Have you found someone yet to replace me as your movie bud? ;-)

Hey pal. Nope, no movie bud replacement for you. There's so much to do here, as opposed to Kansas City, that I rarely make it to the movies. At $9-$10 a pop here, it's a bit expensive anyhow!

I was there when the fire department showed up. Supposedly some black guy called them. A couple of guys I was chatting with on the back patio said they were coming back from their car and this guy started yelling out anti-gay slurs at them and had mentioned something to the effect that he was the one writing all the letters etc... and getting the Lone Star in trouble. How true that is or not I have no idea.
