Out with boxes, in with boxes
Aug. 29th, 2003 09:37 amDue to some power problem yesterday, the subway was only going outbound as far as Van Ness. The 2-car L-Taraval (El Terrible) I was on stopped at Civic Center for an extended wait. I got off and caught the F-Line to the Castro. Stopped at Cliff's and got some shims. Forgot to get the mug hooks though. Damn.
I got home and got boxes ready for Bill to pick up. I also picked up the den and the kitchen. Bill showed up a bit after 6pm, and he visited for a bit. He briefly played the piano. He said he'd bring over some "four hands" music that we can play together. That sounds fun. He told me all about selling his house and selling one of his Steinways. We talked a lot about common friends. He knows a lot of square dance guys. Seems to have dated most of 'em. Man, he's woofy. After he left with the boxes, I moved a couple chairs around in the livingroom. Wow, things look better without boxes!
Steve showed up around 8:30pm. He brought more boxes. He was busy yesterday packing more stuff. We'll probably go down to his place on Monday and pack up the rest.
Took out the trash bins, finished up 4 loads of laundry, watched some TV, then headed to bed.

Re: question
Date: 2003-08-29 01:22 pm (UTC)- Why did I start? I forget things. Journaling helps me to at least jot down what happened so that I can go back later to help remember details.
- Is it different now? Somewhat. As you know, I switched to use LiveJournal in May. Previously, I had hand coded it. LiveJournal has some good features, including "friends only" posts which are available only to my LJ friends. I don't use that often, as I'm pretty much an open book.
- Why available to anyone? As mentioned, I occasionally use "Friends Only" posts. Maybe I keep it open to anyone so that people like you and hunky-mister-blue-eyes can continue to make comments. I'm considering turning off the comments feature like
- End it? I've been journaling since January 1, 2003. It's good therapy for me, so I have no immediate plans to quit. Some friends read it daily, so it saves me time from writing emails to keep them informed. With the elimination of email at work, it'll be my only outlet to vent during the day.
- Steve's influence? Double-0-Steven reads my journal nearly every day. We have very open communication, so it's just an add-on to that. Sometimes I forget to tell him things, so he finds out on my journal. That works out well. Occasionally I find myself omitting something because of Steve. In those cases, it's probably something that I should discuss with him first. In those cases, we discuss it, THEN I post it. It's refreshing to have such open communication with my a partner.
Hope that answers your questions.
