Weekend unpacking
Aug. 25th, 2003 09:50 amSpent almost all weekend unpacking. This is going to take awhile! Things are looking good, though. It's nice to have somewhere to sit in the living room, and it's nice to sleep on a bed rather than on a mattress on the floor.
Almost all of the boxes in the livingroom are unpacked. We have several pictures up on the walls now. Lots more to go. Installed the stereo equipment, and Steve unpacked all his crystal. The bookcases were too tall to fit downstairs as we had planned, so I managed to get them to fit into the den. Actually that will work out nicely. We'll now need to get additional bookcases for downstairs. We needed more anyhow.
Went over to Rhoda's on Saturday night. Her place is one of the best Casa Sanchez apartment layouts I've seen. It was too hot, though. We were sweating. Witten cooked a nice dinner. He made chicken rather than beefy roast, so the Pinot Noir was the wrong wine to bring. Luckily we had also brought Chardonay, which David prefers.
Sunday morning we skipped church in order to do more unpacking. I'm pretty confident we'll finish with the main level this week. Downstairs might take a lot more time. Gotta get those new bookcases!
Rhoda let us know on Saturday that the Lone Star was busted again, so there will be no more Sunday beer busts. Occupancy is back to 99. Steve needed a break, so he went to the Eagle around 6pm, then to the Lone Star. I stayed home and played the piano, then I went to the evening service at church. There was a guest speaker, and the sermon was about sex. He equated sex with spirituality. Through my mind I had Olivia Newton John changing her lyrics and singing, "Let's Get Spiritual. Spiritual."
Came home from church and continued the theme by watching Sex in the City. Steve didn't get home until after 10pm. I lucked out and he wanted to get spiritual.
