Watched the latest edition of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy last night. The guy already seemed pretty much like a metrosexual. Even his apartment wasn't too bad. Compared to other guys in previous weeks, he started out looking better than some of them did afterwards. Too bad they didn't do anything with his hair. I did enjoy how well they improved his apartment with color. I especially like the idea of doubling up the bookcases and adding a library ladder. Doesn't seem like it'd be easy to do, but would love someone to do that at my place.

I didn't really care for Boy Meets Boy. Seemed less appealing than its straight counterparts. Looks like it might get more interesting as things progress, but the first episode just had too many guys, with too little info. The twist about some of the guys being straight seems pretty retarded. With all of them being twinks, none appealed to me, and some just repulsed me. The hostess irritates me. God, I thought they stopped making that hair color in 1988.

I missed the show, but saw an ad for it in Entertainment Weekly. None of the guys were remotley attractive if you are into men who have a little form to them. I am sure they are all shaved smooth too. YUCK. I say we petition for the follow up show: Bear Meets Bear. Okay, so I've already found my bear. Maybe we can change it to Bear Gropes Bear or smothing so us married men can play along. :)

How adorable was it that the straight guy started crying with the gay guys, when they were out sitting in the back yard?

As for Boy meets Boy, I agree. What struck me was the visual blandness to the whole show, which added much to how boring it was to watch. All the guys were a homogenous look (they all looked white, even though there was a black and hispanic guy there), and the Palm Springs setting was so BLAH, it was like watching Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, with it's creams and whites and glass and mirrors—nothing visually appealing at all.

Has Bravo only just discovered gay programming or something?

Bravo was sold to network NBC last November. With NBC's successful Will & Grace, it seems NBC is using Bravo to test more gay programming. QEftSG was so succesful on Bravo, that they now repeat it on NBC after Will & Grace. I know it's just a money thing for them, but I'm happy to see more gays on TV, even if they're just twinks. It's inevitable that Boy Meets Boy will surely lead to Girl Meets Girl. During your next trip to SF, we can play Bear Meets Bear. Deal? ;-)

You know exactly what I'm going be like in SF. I wrote a list of people that I'd really like to catch up with when I'm there - it came to over 50 people. I have three days. It'll be Bear Meets Bear but on rapid fire!

I really need to come back and spend a month in San Francisco again. I loved doing that in 2000.
