AMA opposes Obama's healthcare plan
Jun. 11th, 2009 06:48 amI see on HuffPo that the American Medical Association is going to fight against Obama's healthcare plan.
This is the same group that prevented universal coverage under FDR in the 1930's. They used quite unethical practices at the time to do that, having doctors lie to patients about what it means. This was before most private insurance.
The insurance companies seem to have AMA wrapped around their little finger. It's disgusting. I loathe insurance companies. I deal with them every day, and they are evil.
In the Krugman book I'm reading, he makes some great arguments for universal health. Currently, the United States has twice the medical costs of any other country, and it ranks #37 in terms of care. The current system isn't working, AMA.
