I like whole wheat bread just fine. When it is the same price as white bread, I'll buy the wheat bread. It's a bit healthier, right?
But I have a big problem. Delano's doesn't keep stuff in stock. When I see white bread "on sale" for $2.50 and wheat bread is $4.79, I go with the white bread, or I just skip (the better option). If the white bread is on super sale for $1.50, I don't tend to even think twice.
But it's not just bread. If I eat out at lunch, it's much cheaper to buy fast food than to get a salad.
I have a hard time passing up a bargain. I should be happy that there aren't more all-you-can-eat buffets in the City. Buffet is my favorite food item.
Have any of you broke the "too-cheap-to-pass-up" food bargain habit? I want to keep costs down, but is a shortened lifespan worth it? I've already lived 20 years more than I expected.
