Dinner and a show

I got home from work, and Steve said he was making dinner to go with our night out to see Wicked. So was it greens, greens, nothing but greens? Nope: Boqwurst. Let's just hope the next show isn't Cats.

Seeing lots of bears out was nice. I haven't been out forever. IBR should be fun.

The show was enjoyable. Carol Kane was great. I'll be playing the score for weeks, and hopefully I'll be more in a G'linda mood.

Where's glovercom?

Today was the first night of IBR registration. OMG! Years ago, when IBR waited until Friday night to register everybody, glovercom had us organized so that we got done in 25 minutes. With a Thursday soft-opening, tonight it took an hour to just process the day-early people.

The people working the registration tables were given lists of attendees. It was listed in the order in which people registered. That's right. Not by last name. The list had small font. After 25 minutes, they printed out an alphabetical list. That sped things up.

There were other issues, as is part for the course. 3-5 volunteers not showing up. Some showing up an hour late. Volunteers showing up an hour early for instructions that never came. Chaos. The people checking off names had to relay the badge number to a different table who pulled badges. Except that some people mumbled. Or couldn't read numbers:

"Did you say Eleven?"
"Yes, 11."
"011?"
"Yes, 0-1-1."
"Here you go."
"That's not the right badge."
"What's the number?"
"215."

I'm kinda of a process freak. This blew my mind. My eyes are so sore from rolling. The whole thing was kinda funny. I just wish that I were attracted to stupid people.

At least some attendees were smart and very retina-friendly.
