Roll with the punches
Sep. 1st, 2007 04:11 pmWe ventured out in the wheelchair today. I thought to dig out my leather gloves to bring with me. Good thing. Caselli is a lot steeper than I would have thought, and it's tough to slow down the wheelchair. Luckily, Steve was with me to prevent another accident.
Hung out at Starbears and saw lots of peeps:
pseudocub1,
rexbear,
rampagebear,
bigredpaul,
bearhound,
spaceybear,
glovercom, and
zekespeak. Also saw
sfleatherbear on the way there. Big Ben also stopped by Starbears. In his professional opinion, he mistaked me for homeless. I ran into Harlan, too. It was a beautiful day to be out.
We took the bus back home. Good lord. I hate when wheelchair people get on the bus. The #33 was packed, and I sure wasn't very graceful with my wheelchair. Lots of people were exceptionally friendly about it. I apologized as best I could. I'll try to go out during less crowded times. The wheelchair is more comfortable for hanging out, but the crutches seem more practical for daily trips to Starbears. I'll save the wheelchair for off-hours and for when people offer rides.
