showmeonthedoll caused me to reflect on my own thoughts on immigration. I haven't been paying to much attention to the immigration protest stuff. People on here have already remarked how it is yet another schizm-inducing tactic to deflect attention from failed administration policies. Karl Rove is evil, and he's pretty brilliant at it. Bastard.

I wasn't downtown yesterday, so I wasn't impacted by the protests. Until dinner. We went out to Fuzio. They were only serving from certain portions of their menu "because one of the chefs was off due to the immigration thing." We still got dinner, but they caused us to think more about the immigration issue. Interesting.

If you don't think the anti-immigration policies are too stringent, consider my cousin. I exchanged emails with my Aunt Jane yesterday. Her son married a Mexican citizen a few years ago, but they've been unable to get documentation for his wife to enter the U.S. (My cousin spends most of his time in Mexico.) My cousin is having colon cancer surgery performed in the U.S. in a couple of weeks, but his wife isn't allowed to be there with him. I'm convinced that if she were from Europe or elsewhere, the paperwork would've been processed more quickly.

Nutrition class

Today's diabetes class topic was nutrition. I got to see the plastic food... the dirty, plastic food. I lost my appetite, at least until I got home. I learned some stuff, mostly uninteresting or discouraging.

I did make a personal appointment with the dietician for next Wednesday. Steve will join me for that. That should be beneficial. Then life is over. If not sooner.

Two more days of class. Wheeeeee.
