So that's the RV
Aug. 5th, 2004 09:48 amWednesday had lunch at Castro Tarts. Cheapest place for lunch in the Castro.
Stopped at Starbears and saw
markosf, whom I just met the night before. Frank was there. I really need to stalk him more. I've been neglecting my duties.
We drove down to Redwood City to Steve's RV. I've never seen it. Steve hasn't visited it in years. He just pays storage fees. Every month. After eventually finding the place (Steve couldn't remember where it was), we got to the RV to find that someone had parked too close, and the only door to Steve's RV was inaccessible. Crap! I saw that it was just the trailer hitch that was blocking the door. I was able to manually wheel it a few inches, which gave us access to the door. Whew! We went through his stuff and took anything that he could possibly need or use (plus three bags of other junk that Steve seemed to put in the "need or use" category). Next thing to do is to arrange for one of the those vehicle charity places to take it off Steve's hands.
Went down to Mountain View and had dinner at the sushi boat place. Then off to ECR. The RV took longer than planned, so we arrived about 30 minutes late. Advanced dancing was okay.
Michael Levy started his audition at 7:30pm. During that first Plus tip, someone did something to piss me off for the rest of the night. I tried to tell myself that I control my own reaction to things, but I still let the incident bother me. Even dancing later with
excessor didn't much help. He could have at least goofed up or something to make me laugh. Some friend!
Paul facilitated a short meeting regarding next year's convention. That was quick and painless.
excessor is one of the few non-callers (okay, so he HAS called before) that I don't mind seeing with a mic. (That list is about down to him and Oprah at this point.)
Neil Heather auditioned after that.
Next week Harlan Kerr and Dave Decot are auditioning. It's nice to see that there were several people interested.
