Got home from C2 class just after 6pm. Steve had gone to the Lone Star. I changed and then walked to Home, the restaurant at Market & Church. Steve had arrived just before me. That was our first time to go to Home.

Rhoda and Witten showed up shortly thereafter. Pretty good timing all around. It was Witten's birthday. He looked fabulous.

Dinner was okay, although my chopped salad was really small compared to other Castro restaurants. Still, it hit the spot. We had fun chatting, and the bill was easy to tabulate and divide by three.

Got home and Steve watched The Sopranos. I checked email and then went to bed.

Looks like I'll be having a sing-a-long next Wednesday, 3/17. It'll be low-key. Just some showtunes, and Steve might make some lasagna. Let me know if you'd like added to the e-vite list, and I'll see what I can do.

I woke up fairly early this morning and fretted about work. It's really stressing me out.

I got ready for work and took my first dosage of my meds. I'm taking Norvir, Epivir, Viread, and Reyataz. Seemed to make it through day one without any noticeable side effects.

I thought it'd be a great Muni morning. The #33 was coming along as I was nearing Hattie. Caught that to Castro. An empty #24 was just boarding at the corner of 18th & Castro and caught that and made the greenlight for a one-block ride to Castro Station. Went downstairs to the subway. Two car train in the station. Not moving. Doors open. Full. Hmmmm. Then Grizelda made the announcement that there were inbound delays at Powell. No one was moved. I headed upstairs and caught a fairly empty F-line (damned Milano car) that left immediately. It naturally took longer, but I felt fortunate to catch it while I could.

Sat through an excruciating meeting, then stayed busy with work. Debra changed my 3:30pm one-on-one bi-weekly Tuesday meetings to 4:30pm. Grrrrr. On top of that, they'll include Giselle, so it'll be two-against-one meetings. B. Tomorrow will be the first one. Let the attack of the killer B's begin.

Ray came over to chat with me. We just had cake for him last week since he was transferred to another department. He found out Friday that now his job is being sent to India in the next couple of months. Totally figures.

After work, I went to see a therapist, based on my doctor's suggestion. With all the stress lately, I thought it wasn't a bad idea. The bus leaves from across the street at work and stops right outside this guy's door (after a 35-minute ride). Very convenient. His name is Hal. I didn't know if I should call him "Hal" or "Doctor" or what. He didn't say, so I didn't say his name. The scenario did run through my head, though:

[ME} "What should I call you? Doctor? Hal?"
[HIM}"What would you like to call me?"
[ME] "How about Maria?"

I've never been to a therapist before. I knew not to expect him to say much. He didn't. But after answering his questions, we just had a staring contest. Except for one time, he was the first to back down and ask me another question.

It was a rather painless process, but I don't see the benefit yet. I freely dump most things on LJ, and Steve gets the brunt of the rest of it. I told them that my doctor suggested taking Paxil or something. He suggested against it. For one, he said Paxil would cause me to gain weight. This guy is reading me clear already!

Guess I'll give him at least another session or two. Can't hurt.
