Got my haircut at 10am. Michael was looking run down. He had been off sick some days last week. The haircut took 30 minutes. Seems to take longer and longer each time. I usually just close my eyes and think happy thoughts.

Ran into Jackson and then [livejournal.com profile] sfbearhoney while walking down Sanchez. Then headed up to Starbears. Casa Chris was out front, so I chatted with him for a bit. He introduced me to Frank, who had been in line ahead of me getting coffee. Turns out that Frank is from L.A. and is up here doing a film for Raging Stallion. While we were talking, three guys came up and introduced themselves to him. LOL.

I went home, then Steve and I headed out to the Cove for brunch. It was my first time to try their vegetarian chef salad. I'll definitely have that again. L.A. Frank was there, too.

Went to Starbears after that. The sun felt so good. Saw Schwab Mike, Brit Mike, and [livejournal.com profile] dhbearguy's Richard stopped by momentarily. We chatted with [livejournal.com profile] ricksf and [livejournal.com profile] bigreddee for awhile. [livejournal.com profile] graphicubsf also stopped by. I love my neighborhood.

Went home and relaxed for a bit. Sent out some IBR emails. I cut up some cheese for the dance, and Steve made his "pigs on a date." Went to the dance and had a good time. Lots of LJ'ers. Several of the soon-to-be-graduated Mainstream students were there, so I danced with a few of them. They did pretty good for their first official dance. It was the angels who broke down other squares I was in.

Can't say I love Betsy Gotta's voice, but I like her attitude. Andy and other callers like to do the sequence left-allemande, do-si-do, left-allemande. Instead of do-si-do, Besty used Turn-Thru, and that seemed to flow much better. I'll have to remember that when I start doing choreo.

The choreo wasn't too challenging, so I tried to pep things up with styling and sound effects. A certain non-club-affiliated-dancer got me to practice my square dance smile often. God, I wish Swap Around was a MS or Plus-level call. I was in a pretty a dysfunctional square for an Advanced tip, but we managed to still have fun. I usually don't have much fun in dysfunctional squares, but sound effects made up for it.

We gave Bill & Jim a ride back down to the Castro. Our place was a mess, so I cringed when Steve invited them in. We did have a nice chat for a bit over beer (okay, I had a bottled water), then Steve went out with them to Castro bars. I watched TV and went to bed.
