Changed status due to traffic increase

I just made a post to the BML regarding square dancing at IBR. Due to the expected increased traffic to my site that I get after any BML post I make, I've changed one of yesterday's journal entries to "friends only" for the time being. I'll change it back to public in a few days.

Perking up a bad day

So much going on, getting stressed. Dad's cancer. Grandma's cancer. Waiting for important lab results. IBR duties. Work crap. No sugar.

I was in a down mood most of yesterday. Later in the day, a friend called out-of-the-blue to check up on me. Some people are damned thoughtful and continue to amaze me. My spirits got a bit better after that.

Steve was a bit groggy from inhaling the acrylic fumes after spraying the square dance dangles he made yesterday. I drove us down to Chili's in Mountain View for dinner. Grilled salmon and veggies. Tasty, but some more veggies would've helped!

Made it to St. Andrews right at 6:30pm. Rich got Steve in the square and went over the A2 calls that Steve will be doing in Sunday's class. Steve's doing pretty well.

The rest of the night was okay. Lots of good students in the class. Just a few bad ones. The Plus tip was okay, even though I didn't get to dance girl.

It was great to see handlebear dancing a tip. I sat out that one, but just watched him the whole time, thinking happy thoughts.

Square dancing put me in a better mood.

Drove home and watched the West Wing episode that Steve had taped. Oh good. Fix Social Security in one episode. Sure.

By invitation only...

I've heard of square dance groups that were by invitation-only. Usually for higher-level dancers. Whatever.

Last night I got an invite to attend/angel an invitation-only C1 class. My schedule really doesn't allow for it, although getting more floortime at C1 would be a good thing. I said I'd think about it. I'd have to take BART and give up several hours on a Saturday. Doesn't sound too appealing.

Still, getting an invite is always nice.
