Tuesday Stuff
Jan. 21st, 2004 09:30 amI previously had jobs where I enjoyed coming to work on that Tuesday after a three-day weekend. One day I'm sure I'll have another job like that.
It was a productive Tuesday, though. I arranged and signed the contract for IBR's SF City Bus Tour. It was my idea to add the tour as an optional event, but my initial experience checking out tours for IBR was not good. I trusted that it would work out, and now after 30+ people signed up for the tour, it was pretty easy. My contact in the tour office was very helpful. It's going to be a private charter for us, and I can continue increasing the number of people up to about 50 should others sign up later.
I had an interesting noon meeting. The organizer scheduled the meeting in a conference room that ended up being on a deserted floor. The conference room had no phone connection. We did find a working phone in another office, so we moved the meeting in there. (Odd to see a complete floor with no one on it. I'll just have to file away that location for later reference.) Some VP on the call mentioned yet another possible solution to our vendor software problem. Turns out that everyone is having problems with the vendor, so the vendor is upgrading software by mid-year, just in time for our project. He got that info from the vendor's CIO. None of our other contacts at the vendor know about it. Typical.
I had taken an early lunch and went to the YMCA. Amazing how music can motivate me to do more. I "ran" an extra two minutes, and stayed on the treadmill 5 minutes more than usual. At the earlier hour, there were few people there. There was an attractive guy in the steamroom, though. Made relaxing even better.
Steve went to some playwright's meeting, so I ate at home before going to FCD. Club dancing was ok. I gave Andy a copy of Steve's IBR insert. He saw the shirtless pic of himself and said, "Who's the hot guy?" LOL. The FCD class is almost done. A few people are doing well, but it's hard to see lots of these guys being able to dance at a Mainstream dance. Hopefully additional floortime will help. The class has yet to learn most "styling," so the remaining classes before graduation should be fun. I went out with Don, Joe, George, Michael, and Peter to Starbucks for coffee afterwards before heading home to my honey.
