Weekend

Got my haircut after work on Friday. Having overgrown hair while being sick just makes things look even worse.

Ed, a straight friend of Steve's, dropped by to discuss some trading software with Steve. They went out to dinner, while I just stayed in to rest. I was wiped out most of the weekend with fatigue.

On Saturday, I just rested and watched TV while Steve went down to Palo Alto for some all-day Eckankar thing. He got home around 6pm and napped. I went to the store to grab stuff for dinner. I made enchilladas, but I had little appetite. The one good benefit of feeling sick.

Sunday I still felt a bit worn out. Luis came over at 11am to go to brunch with Steve. They dragged me with them, and we went to Luna. Waited in line more than 30 minutes. That was my first time to eat there. I just don't care for lines. Food was ok, but my appetite still lacked. Afterwards, they went to MCC to watch the SF Gay Men's Chorus do their rehearsal.

I went to the Mike Kellog dance at Midnight Squares. I wasn't feeling 100%, but I needed the A2 floor time. Mike called very fast, so it was lots of fun. I made several mistakes, but fewer than lots of folks. It was good experience. I'm looking forward to the A2 dancing in Vancouver over Thanksgiving.

Got home and re-heated leftovers for dinner. My appetite returned, so I guess that's a good sign. Enchilladas aren't exactly tame for the stomach, and I was up several times last night. Still fatigued today. It's unlike any other time I've been sick or fatigued. If it persists, I'll call the doctor.

My boss is working from home today, so she's cancelled are weekly project meeting. Woohoo!

I called my father on Saturday. It was his 70th birthday. I never EVER call my father. We get along fine, but have little to talk about. We correspond frequently via email. I did make smalltalk with his wife, which is a big step. Heck, they've only been married 25 years now.

My dad sounded pretty frail on the phone. I just teased him that it was his "old" age, and let him pretend his cancer and painkillers weren't having an impact. He did sound in good spirits. Of course, I'm sure hearing from me was quite a surprise.

I got an email from my sister Judy. Her husband is out of town for the weekend, so she was doing her own version of "While You Were Out." Apparently, she had contacted the show and they were going to come do it, but they overbooked for this weekend after confirming with her. She'll get a "free t-shirt" for their goof. She decided to go ahead and do it on her own. I called her today to see how it was going, and it sounded like she did well. Her husband comes home tonight at midnight, so it should be a nice surprise. I'm impressed.
