Friday evening we went to the L'Edge for Happy Hour. Around 7pm we headed over to Glover's house. Todd showed up with Muffy. It was deja vu for me, as there were about a dozen people I had met at Glover's house in March 2000 on my very first day in the City. Jeff & John arrived around 7:30pm, and it seemed that Jeff was actually surprised.

Steve & I caught a cab with Jeff and bif around 9pm. Had a decent time there, and stayed too late. Caught a cab home and crashed.

Relaxed most of Saturday, worn out from Friday's festivities. Double-0-Steven got all spiffed up in a suit, and he headed out a bit after 1pm for an afternoon at the opera with Luis.

I hadn't received email all day. I verified that my email address was forwarded to the correct Yahoo address. Yepper. I checked my "raw" account and found that I had received email, but it hadn't forwarded to my Yahoo account. I changed the forwarding destination to my backup stevezink.com account, and it worked fine. Again, I'm hosed by Yahoo. They really are evil.

I met up with Joe & Bob at Firewood for dinner at 5pm. Fred was to meet us at 6pm, so we just sat and chatted after dinner. Gary4bears sat nearby. It was my first time to recognize him in public after exchanging emails in May.

We left for Walnut Creek around 6:20pm. Heavy traffic on the Bay Bridge, but we got there in plenty of time. I hadn't been to that dance venue before. It was ok. They had a good turnout. Probably 6 squares dancing at its peak, with more on the sidelines. They had a few A2 tips. I went ahead and danced them. I didn't hear one call and messed up one sequence, but finally found my spot. Whew, at least the square didn't break down. I'm glad that I didn't shy away from it.

Bob had to give someone else a ride home, so I caught a ride with Michael Levy. Not much traffic on the way back, and I got home at 11pm.

Skipped church to do some unpacking. It is a very slow process! Grrrrrr.

We went to The Cove for lunch. I ordered an omelet, which came with toast and hash browns. I went ahead and ate them. First potatoes and bread in 4 months. Oh well, dance class might burn that off.

It was warmer out than I thought, so we headed home after lunch to change into shorts before class. I think there were about 9 students in the class. Enough angels for three squares at one point. They taught about 4 or 5 simple A1 calls. Steve seemed to have no problems. We avoided dancing with Joy from Diablo. I noticed she was having problems on Saturday night. During class it seems she broke down her square LOTS of times. Not sure if we can manage to avoid her squares in the future, but it worked out well yesterday! They did provide a list of the calls for next week, so I'll be able to go over them with Steve during the week. Not learning anything new, I'm now looking forward to starting the C1 class next month.

Got home, watched TV, then I made a salad while Steve cooked chicken ravioli. So many carbs for one day! At least I stuck to portion control with them. Not with other things, but at least with carbs! Having enough carbs for the day, I wasn't up to going out for beer-carbs. Steve went out to the Castro bars while I stayed home and watched TV. Such a life.

I enjoyed the not-so-crowded Muni this morning and seeing fewer cars on the road. It wasn't until I paid my PG&E bill online that I realized it's a bank holiday. Woohoo.
