Friday at lunchtime, I went to Embarcadero Station to meet Steve for Bear Lunch. I got there and noticed that all the Muni entrances said "Free Entry" as opposed to "Pass or $1.00." (Why is it that whenever one of the display lights goes out, it's always the "P"? It does make me chuckle to see "ass or $1.00.)" Not sure what the Free Entry was about. Only to snag you later if you don't have a pass? Anyhow, I got there just as Steve, Katzenberger and Gallegos were getting off the inbound train. Good timing!

Steve and I went to Lee's to get lunch. I ordered a turkey sandwich, then discarded the bread. I also got a hardboiled egg. Being early, only one other person had arrived. That was someone named John, whom I hadn't previously met. Cute. Men who can look cute in glasses have my admiration. Others arrived, and we soon had a fairly large group. I avoided Ruby and PeePee, and didn't have to mutter a word to 'em. I would have greeted them, but the opportunity didn't arise. Bless Karma. M was introduced to that John guy and by the end of lunch, I gotta see 'em kiss. Kewl. John is taking classes a couple blocks away from my work. Hopefully I'll run into him again soon.

After lunch, I headed home, and Steve headed back to the Castro. Work dragged on, no emails all day. That's a good thing. The group is going to see Terminator 3 next Wednesday afternoon. It's my last day at work before vacation, so I'm going to have to probably stay and finish up stuff. The movie's at 2:40pm anyhow, so it's almost the end of my day. No sense spending time with them more than needed.

I got home and found Steve naked in bed. I peeked around the corner to see if someone was next to him, but he was alone. Unlike me, he rarely is naked around the house. It was a pleasant sight. He had stopped for a couple drinks with Jimmy at Daddy's, so he was napping. Of course, the heat provoked the nakedness. I like him naked! With the heat, I'm really glad I made that fan purchase on Thursday.

Steve went to Bear Lush, and I stayed home and waited for Arthur and his Steve. They were coming to check out the dimensions of the refrigerator. They arrived and were there less than a couple minutes before diagnosing the problem. I can be such a blonde. My refrigerator wasn't on the blink. It was the smoke detector. Yes folks, I am NOT handy. It was hard to tell where the sound was coming from. They removed the smoke detector and took it into the bedroom. They still couldn't tell. Arthur finally took it outside. Yep, the smoke detector just needed a new battery. My old one at the mansion never did that. It probably didn't even have a battery backup. Grrrrrr. In my defense, I had gotten water in my left ear at the pool party last weekend. I even had to buy earwax removed, although there seems to still be some buildup. When facing the refrigerator, the smoke detector is on the left, so the ear problem and accoustics through me off. Additionally, Google searching shows that "chirping refrigerator" is a common problem. One person even said, "At first I thought it was my smoke detector." Oops. Arthur and Steve didn't seem pissed off. I think they were relieved that they didn't have to shell out hundreds of bucks for a new refrigerator. They had spent considerable amount of time searching for a new fridge, though. I was totally embarrassed. But I was also happy to be rid of that damned chirping.

I tried to rest some while Steve was out. Not much luck. Steve got home a bit after 7pm. I made hamburgers (mine without bun) and bok choy for dinner. We decided to go out around 9:30pm to the Lone Star. Daddy's and The Edge had taken its toll, and Steve was a bit tired, so I decided to skip the LS. Steve would have gone, but I can wait. Not having alchohol really takes fun out of it. Even though I'm "allowed" alchohol on Atkins at this point, it sure doesn't hurt to skip it.

I was tired and went to bed around 10:30pm. We left the screen door intact, but didn't need the fan, as it had cooled off a bit. I slept pretty well, only getting up a couple times. With only the screen door shielding us from outside beasts, I was attacked around 5am! Steve always knows how to make me feel good.

Steve's off to Dim Sum this morning. Dim Sum not being Atkins-friendly, I'm off to volunteer my time at Hibernia Beach passing out temp tattoos and info for Foggy City Square Dancing. Then I'm off to the Lone Star to meet up with the Dim Sum crowd and others to decorate the BOSF float.
