I got home from work yesterday around 11am and was able to unpack some boxes and move the rest of the boxes from the living to downstairs. When going downstairs, there was an orange tabby coming up the stairs. It had a bell or something around it's neck. Must belong to a neighbor. It was rather skittish. I saw it on the back deck again later. Yeah! A cat! Hopefully it'll warm up to me so I can get a kitty fix without the woes of being a pet guardian.

The cable guy arrived around 1:15pm. He set up pretty quickly, and let me know that with the offer I received, it was a "basic" install. He'd take care of hooking up the cable & modem, but I'd have to install the software stuff. Fine. There was a problem with the modem signal, so he had to climb the telephone pole and do some work for a bit. I checked out the downstairs room more. That would have been a great studio apartment. Well, except for the fact that it's an illegal unit. One of the separate storage rooms could have been a bedroom, and the other an office. Too bad the plumbing has been removed.

After he fixed the telephone pole cable wiring, we checked the IPCONFIG, and the modem had a connection. He then left, giving me brief instructions on how to do the rest of the software installation. It didn't work. The software kept getting blank windows. If I tried to close them, it said that registration was still in progress. I managed to reboot and run some install stuff a few times so that it got to "registration succeeded." However, it then got stuck, and I couldn't get to the internet. It was getting past 3pm, and I still had to get to Steve's via Caltrain. I left it with "Registration in progress" or something. We'll see if anything happened overnight. These installs are never fun. I hate that the install screens don't match what is shown in the handbook. I'll fiddle with it again when I go home today, probably at lunchtime.

I ran into Tom Kelly on the way to Muni. He saw my square dance badge and said it's been awhile since he's square danced. I told him about going to Peel-Off in PS. He knew that Stuart had gone. He asked me if it looked like Stu was happy. I love when people break up but are still caring and not bitter. I was so bitter when Junior & I broke up, I made it hell on everyone. In hindsight, it was probably that I was so mad at myself to have been so caught up with such an insensitive bastard. Live and learn. There's a reason for everything. And everyone.

I got to Caltrain about a minute after the 4pm train left. Grrrrr. Luckily it wasn't much wait until the 4:27pm train. Got to Belmont a little after 5pm. Steve wanted to go to dinner with some ECR folks, so we ate at Willy Armadillo's in Mountain View. We got there at 5:45pm as scheduled and waited about 10 minutes for someone else to show. It ended up being just 5 of us. I had brisket. It was ok, but not nearly as tender as I make.

Got to the church just after 7pm, right before they started. The class went to the kitchen for review. I stayed in the main area for full Plus dancing from 7-7:30pm. I'm glad I didn't go to review. I know all the calls, so some "fast" calling by Andy was lots of fun. During the main session, they reviewed Crossfire several times, since the class had just learned it the previous week. My class learns it next week, so it was good practice for me. I did that call more last night than I've done up until then. The rest of the session was good. I got in some good dancing, with few mistakes. I'll definitely be ready for convention. I was afraid that I'd be too new at the Plus level to dance it much at convention. It'll be no problem. My goal now is to learn to dance the boy part and be "bi-dansual" before convention.

Having gone to Palm Springs, it gave me a better rapport last night with others in the club who had also been there this weekend. I've never really talked to Randy, yet he was quick to inform some guys about my sexual antics in the pool. Cool. Spread the word. ;-) Anyhow, it did help to be able to converse with Randy without it being awkward. Extra hugs for Kim & Bennet, too. Even Steuart made some sexual innuendo.

Got to Steve's after the dance and helped him set up the extra bed in Peter's old room. He had originally put the frame together incorrectly. We did a good job working together to figure it out and get it all set up. We make a good team. I was exhausted and went to bed around 11pm.

Got up at 6am and caught the 6:30am train to work, getting here around 7:30am. I was going to leave a bit after 8am to work on my internet connection (after all, I DO need it for work). When I got to the corner of Howard & Main, I realized that I had a 9:30am meeting to discuss the NFL presentation we're doing next week. Grrrrrrrr. Oh well, wait until lunch to go do the internet thing.

I looked back at my PayPal entries, and I realized that I haven't billed Steve for any of the Palm Springs trip or Stumptown Stomp. I'll have to calc that stuff so that I can pay down some bills. I love PayPal for keeping track of stuff. Checks don't cut it. Without a hardcopy check register, I never know what the check was used for. I suggested to BOA to improve their online banking by allowing online memo entries (some of those credit card descriptions aren't clear either), but I doubt that will ever happen. That would cut into sales of Quicken software.

I sent Harry Lit some interview questions for the 3rd quarter BOSF newsletter. It'll be published around the first part of July, so the focus is mainly about Lazy Bear. Got any questions that you'd like me to include? Put them as a comment to this entry, and I can forward those to him as well. I don't think I'll be publishing that "Will you hold your hot, hairy body against mine?" question that I have for Harry.

Back to "work" now.
