I went home at lunch yesterday and unpacked a few things. With my busy schedule, this is sure taking awhile. I'm free on Friday night and Saturday, so I'll try to use those days wisely!

I had my bi-weekly meeting with my boss. I tried to stay upbeat, and I think that helped make it easier on the both of us. She was not so bitchy today. Got that over with. Whew!

I got home about 4:30pm. Steve was already there. I did some laundry. I had no white socks left to wear! Well, I should say that I tried to do some laundry. After the wash cycle, the machine stopped. I let it sit for awhile, thinking it was some "soak" thing. Nope. I tried lots of things, but it would never drain or spin. I finally got lucky after several hours and got it to work. I did two additional loads, but those had the same problem, and I don't know what steps to repeat to make it work. I'll have to ask Arthur if there is some trick to it.

We went to Nirvana for dinner. Folkanese noodle soup. Mmmmmm. It was still a bit early, so we headed to Welcome Home to get some bread pudding with ice cream for Steve for dessert. They were closed. There was a sign up that they were closed in the evenings due to the recession. Grrrrrrr. I have no idea how long that's been like that. If you know, please inform us via comments. (One advantage of using LiveJournal!) We ended up going to The Cove for Steve's bread pudding. No ice cream, though, and he got a sad puppydog face. We argued about some Eckankar stuff over coffee. Steve is a good partner with whom to argue. I feel comfortable disagreeing and arguing about stuff with him without feeling like it's threatening our relationship. We have great communication. We each do stuff to piss each other off. I'm sure that Steve (or Junior or Roy) could tell you how annoying I can be. Hard to believe, I'm sure! ;-)

After dinner we went to the FCD square dance class. That was really good. Harlan taught 2 more calls. Only two left to go. He is such a good teacher. My mind wanders a bit more now that I was told he has a massive PA to match his massive dick... Anyhow, one call he taught was "Peel The Top." I knew that it is usually called from a Z formation. I didn't realize that at Plus level, Peel the Top is the ONLY call used from a Z formation. That's the kind of stuff you don't figure out from just reading definitions. He also taught "Spin Chain Exchange The Gears." That's the last of the "Spin Chain" calls at Plus level. Everyone seemed to do it fine. He alternated between the 3 Spin Chain calls, and I'm a lot more confident with those now. With all the floor time I got over the weekend, I'm pretty confident with my dancing.

Turns out that there was a BOSF board meeting at the same time as square dance class. Oops. I spaced it off. Actually, you can use a different verb in that last sentence. I feel somewhat guilty about missing the board meeting. This was the third one in a row I've missed. That's horrendous. I should feel even guiltier than I do, but you can just go to hell! ;-) I even felt that I had stuff to contribute at last night's meeting. Again, I "spaced" it off. That would have been my last one to attend as a board member. It's less than a month now before new elections! I got my BOSF board ballot in the mail yesterday--delayed due to forwarding. It listed reasons why a ballot wouldn't be counted, including sending it an unsigned envelope; however, the instructions didn't say anything about signing it, and there was nothing on the envelope. The board previously agreed to eliminate the signature requirement, but yet it was still mentioned in the letter. Confusing. Yet another reason I'm totally embarrassed to be on this particular board. There are some great guys, but lots of poor administration at times.

Mark sent an email yesterday to the board saying that someone from HBO is doing a documentary about bears and sash contests. They are going to document bears at different clubs preparing for their local events, culminating at IBR 2004. Sounds like Drop Dead Gorgeous. Being on the board, running for another contest didn't cross my mind. That HBO email jarred me to realize I wouldn't be on the board next year. Hmmmm. Something to consider. Being on HBO would be so totally cool. They could show me watching "Drop Dead Gorgeous" to get some pageant and sniper tips, LOL.

I was scheduled for another meeting this afternoon with Joyce's group. Due to my cable broadband installation, I'm going to have to miss it. Darn. The cable guy is supposed to arrive sometime between 12-4pm. Hopefully it'll be closer to noon. After that, I'm taking Caltrain down to Steve's for the evening. Square Dancing with ECR, then helping Steve move some furniture into Peter's old room.
