Psychotic forum
Jun. 19th, 2003 08:37 amYesterday morning I was able to get the remote office feature to work from my work PC. I went home at lunchtime to try it out again. I messed up the password or something and got locked out. Steve and I ate lunch at The Cove. I had a Caesar salad, avoiding the croutons in deference to Dr. Atkins.
Got back to work and called the help desk to reset my password. It took them much longer than usual. Their first words were "reboot." Jesus Christ. Must be instinctive for help desk reps to say that. After more discussion, they figured out how to reset the password for this new id. I was able to log on again from work. Hopefully it'll work from home.
Our 2pm meeting was pretty useless. My boss used some interesting words. I think she mean SPORADIC when she told someone she was psychotic about having agendas. Many people missed the meeting, but she said she had enough for a forum. I think she was meaning quorum. A cleaned up version of Ebonics, I suppose. Denise hiked up her skirt to reveal a new rash. The tattoo of our CEO was interesting to see, though. Yes, yes, all lies.
Steve picked me up and we headed to his place. We stopped by the liquor store so that he could pick up pork rinds for breading for chicken cordon bleu. Got to Steve's and I watched some TV while he made dinner. More bok choy. Mmmmm. Dinner was ok. I'm not a big cordon blue fan, but I'm impressed Steve just whips it up. I'm mentally craving sweets, though. I don't really care for cake, but a big slice with frosting piled high sounds good about now.
We got to square dancing a bit after 7pm, but they were still doing an Advanced tip. After that, we did HARD Plus until 7:30pm. That was lots of fun. Very challenging. I am SO ready to dance at convention. Andy mentioned that he'll be the caller at convention for both the Leather Tip and the Bear Tip. Later in the evening, they played the video presentation that they'll show in San Diego to announce the 2005 San Jose Convention. Wow. Excellent editing. Sounds like no other group has done anything so professional. Again, coming from the Silicon Valley, you'd expect good technology. ECR has plenty of excellent technologists, and it has much more enthusiasm than any of the other clubs I've seen. And the woofiest guys. Heck, Andy is the caller.
Got home and watched that night's two episodes of Sex in the City that Steve had taped. I crashed at 11:15pm and slept through until 5:47am. Decent night sleep. I showered and reheated the leftover piece of chicken cordon bleu for breakfast. On Atkins, I have a need to eat breakfast. Steve dropped me off at the train station and I caught the 6:33am train. Too tired to read, I didn't buy a newspaper. The ticket machine ate one of my $1 bills. No one around to give me a refund. I wonder what losing a dollar like that is supposed to mean. I switched to the other machine, using a $5 and getting two crappy dollar coins as change. The train seemed pretty empty. I got an upstairs single seat to myself. I closed my eyes and rested. No real sleep, but some rest.
Got to 4th & King and decided to forego the N-Judah and instead walk to the office. It's about 20 minutes. A nice morning. The walk was good. I really should carry my camera with me. Lots of great things to see. I love my City.
