Jun. 18th, 2003 10:30 amI went to see my boss for our 3:30pm bi-weekly meeting. She's still with Craig. Happens every time. I sit in one of the ever-increasing empty cubicles waiting for "their" meeting to end. I waited nearly 15 minutes. No apologies, no comment. Bitch. Got through the meeting fairly quickly. I again asked for more work. She said she'd send it. Still waiting. This morning I come in to find that the research on one of my projects has determined it got to our queue in error. Yet again. That's the third one I've "completed" recently by doing that. It wastes my time having to dig in and research the stuff, but I get to be busy with work and not have to worry about installs. As long as it counts as a completed projected, that works for me.
I got word that my remote access has been updated. I went home and tried it. The instructions they gave didn't make sense. I tried again this morning, still not making sense. I'll have to call the help desk today and figure it out.
When I got home yesterday, Steve was asleep. He can be such a sound sleeper. I love that. He can fall asleep within just a few minutes. Wish I had that ability. Meanwhile, I can putter around the house without disturbing him.
Steve made a crab omelette for dinner. It didn't come out the best. You're supposed to add sherry, but I can't have any alcohol these first two weeks, so he omitted it. Guess that's what it needed to come out good. Whatever. I'm not picky and eat anything.
Square dancing had a poor showing. Just enough for one square. Don showed up, but as soon as he saw that Michael Levy was calling, he went home. Had he stayed, we would have had enough for two squares at one point. With just one square, I sat out a couple tips to allow other people to dance. Very poor dancers last night. The square kept breaking down. Ed can't even do "Grand Square." He has no clue.
Neither Mario nor Richard were there, so it was not a too woofy evening. Dave M. was there, so that helped the woofiness factor just a bit. From overheard conversation, it seems that JD has been going out with Mario. Sounds like it's a fairly new thing. Interesting. I can just imagine some very passionate sex going on. That's a good thing.
I also figured out from blogs that B & R are dating. Even "in love." Puke. Maybe shallow, insincere R will finally get some depth and sincerity? I doubt it, but hope so for B's sake. I've had too many conversations with R to think he's salvagable. With him, it's like I have x-ray vision and can see through his enormous amout of bullshit. It's a super-power I'd be happier without.
Tonight I'm taking the train down to Steve's. Got a goddamned group meeting at 2pm. Denise does not hold good meetings. Her skills are quite lacking. Maybe the sores on her tits interfere. I heard word that it's the Ebola virus. Who needs a voodoo doll when I have my voodoo blog?

Date: 2003-06-18 01:51 pm (UTC)Journalist, eh? I've not given it much thought. I send weekly emails to my family, and my aunt mentioned "journalist" to me as well. Hmmmm.
My favorite books are the Tales of the City books. Nothing deep, but well written with lots of twists. Short entries, some almost blog-like. Guess that's because it started as a serial in the newspaper. I don't read a helluva lot. I guess Armistead Maupin must be my fave author because of Tales, but I don't care for his books outside of that series.
Thanks for asking. I may now look into taking some journalism classes. Along journalistic lines, I've been the newsletter editor for the past year for the BOSF newsletter and added interviews. If you haven't seen my interviews, you can check out past issues of the newsletter.
Thanks for your comments. What other blogs do you read? I'm always looking for a good one.

Date: 2003-06-18 09:58 pm (UTC)Anyway, thanks for the url to them.
I usually read http://clevybosio.free.fr/, I like the style of it though it looks like the woman who writes it came to a stall literally. She doesn't write at the same pace as she used to so to speak. Lost interest?
I used to read another blog (http://www.bigrob66.info/) but Rob decided to discontinue it. I don't remember exactly but I think I came to yours through his.
I spent 3 weeks in SF in 2000; I love the city, particularly Castro where you live. This is one reason why I periodically read your blog. Keep it up Gary.
