Rough Tuesday
Jan. 28th, 2004 08:45 amIt was a busy Tuesday. I went to the dentist at lunchtime and got xrays and a filling between the back of my front teeth. The first two shots to numb me were not pleasant. Made my upper lip and nose numb for a few hours. With the numbness, I skipped lunch.
I got a couple project sizings done as well as their design documents. Got feedback from a few co-workers, but one hasn't returned a phonemail from Monday. He still hasn't read an email sent yesterday morning. I asked my boss if he was on vacation or something. Nope. "Working" from home.
Had my Tuesday bi-weekly meeting with my boss. My statuses were fine. We went over that written warning and she noted that I've been doing its "next steps" just fine. She did say that it looks like my group will NOT be offshored any time soon. HOWEVER, my department (and others, she said) needs to reduce staff by at least one person. I'll be that person. Joy. The jobsearch at work has not been good. I left work very frustrated.
Muni got stuck for about 10 minutes between Church & Castro waiting for a "green light." It was a full car, and I was standing. Grrrrr.
Having skipped lunch, I was hungry and cranky. Seems Steve knows how to push my buttons on my crankiest days. I was pissy most of the night. Club dancing at FCD was okay. Class dancing was poor, and I got into a funk. A square dance smile didn't help, and I just went on autopilot to get through the evening.
Got home and QEftSG was a repeat, so we played Scrabble. Ended up with a tie game at 356 points each.
I went to bed around 11pm, but didn't sleep well. Got up at 5:30am and did some work from home before heading out. Saw
drewbearsf at the Muni station. "Experiencing inbound delays between Forest Hill and Castro." Shit. Actually, it wasn't that much of a delay, and I got a position standing against an end door that wasn't working. Good. No one to shove past me at Church Station.
