Tonsillectomy Wednesday T+7
Jul. 11th, 2013 08:25 amPain was a bit more aggressive today.
I could tell when my "every 6 hours" was approaching. At least 45 minutes before Vicodin was due, my throat was getting painful. Not excessive, but it probably hit a level of 5 a few times.
Highlight was having some soup at dinner (plus mashed potatoes). It was a butternut squash bisque. Really good. I also had a little bit of chocolate ice cream for the first time since surgery. (I've been avoiding dairy to prevent mucus buildup.) It wasn't that good. Not sure if it was my taste buds, but I'm glad I'm not tempted to eat the whole carton. ;-)
Went out to pick up some prescriptions, then for iced tea at Starbucks. I didn't nap, but watched a little TV. Played the piano, and besides the computer, that was the extent of my activities for the day. Oh, plus giving myself a haircut.
Pain meds: 8am 15ml, 3pm 15ml, 9pm 15ml.
Diet: Popsicles, Jello, Mashed Potatoes, Butternut Squash Bisque, Scrambled Eggs, Chocolate Ice Cream
Pain levels 3-5 (The pain levels drop within 15 minutes of taking the Vicodin)
