Two-hour commute

My main work office is on Geary at Stanyan. The commute is convenient, since I'm able to take the closest bus from my home (#33 Stanyan) to Geary at Arguello, just a few blocks from work. It's about a 15-minute ride, including some gorgeous views.

Today I arrived to work at 6:30am. I'm usually first into the office on most days, and I get to use an allen wrench to unlock the door from the inside so my coworkers don't need to use a key. Very Ikea. (Then there's an additional badge access needed once inside.)

My desk is in a room with three others. This morning, that room was locked, and I don't have a key. It's never been locked. I didn't know of anyone who has a key, and no one was there anyhow. I left that office to come work at the clinic on Sloat Blvd, where I work about half the time. (#44 to Forest Hill. Then the M to Sloat.) At Sloat and West Portal, the nextbus #23 said 49 minutes (an every-20-minutes bus, LOL), so I walked the mile to the office.

Walking Sloat is a nice walk. I get to see the ocean on the horizon, and I get to walk past Stern Grove. I've learned that it's a good place to discreetly pee if I don't think I can hold it the rest of the way.

I arrived at the clinic at 8:30am. A key for my room is being ordered for me this morning.

I'm pretty sure that "every 20 minutes" is just an average. I used to take an "every 20 minutes" bus, but what that really meant was that you waited about an hour, and then 4 buses would come one right after the other with maybe 3 minutes in between.
