Got some good stuff done at work yesterday. Had a helpful phone conversation with my business partner in Phoenix. That led to the project being put on hold. Happens with my projects a lot, and then my boss blames me for not getting it done. B.

I bought a pedometer yesterday, but still need to get batteries for it. I've never had one, so it'll be interesting to see how far I actually walk in a day and how that changes on square dance days.

I went to my doctor in the afternoon. I hadn't gotten a chance to get my lab stuff done, but every time I tried to call in the last two weeks to postpone the appointment, they were out on vacation and not taking calls. Decided to show up anyhow. My weight was "only" up 13 pounds, which was a surprise. I thought it would be even higher. It could be that I have lost a couple pounds in the last week or so. To really prevent me from alchohol bingeing, I asked the doctor to prescribe Antabuse. That makes you violently ill if you have any alchohol within 36 hours or so. Not sure why parents of teens don't make their kids take that. It's not something I'll take all the time, but it'll be a good deterrent on occasion. I'll get my labs done soon and then go back to the doctor in a few weeks.

Met up with Joe, Dave, and about a half dozen others from WSD for Dave's birthday dinner at Ali Baba's Cave. My combination sandwich was good and filling, although Joe's choice of sitting at the table on the floor was not too comfortable. Dancing at WSD was ok. This year's class is really good. There's one who is much slower than the rest, but even he's not so bad so far. We did an angel tip, and a Grey, one of the new students, came up to me afterwards and complimented my dancing. I love that.

Got home and watched Average Joe. Obnoxious show. Yep, she got rid of the guy with the cold sore right away.

Got home

Be careful with that stuff (Antabuse.) You might want to just take a little and, knowing that you'll still get sick with any alcohol consumption, use the knowledge that you're on it at all to avoid any drinking. The reason why parents don't use it is that parents rarely know their kids have become problem drinkers! Plus deciding to get out of the habit is something a person has to do for themselves, so your deciding to take it is reasonable, but making someone else take it is not.

No cough syrups or other things containing alcohol -- includes wine sauces, liqueured candies, etc.

Pulling for you... and keep it up at the gym. I ran into the alcohol wall at about 35, and since have kept consumption to less than two a day, and about 20 drinks a year. Saves a lot of money and the good side is it only takes one drink to get me drunk now.... like a lot of older guys, I have a club soda after the first drink to keep me liquid.
