Moving right along...
Oct. 6th, 2003 03:55 pmLJ has been giving me problems all day. Grrrrr.
Went to Steve's Friday night and packed the rest of the kitchen and started the garage. Steve didn't get a nap and was grumpy. I got annoyed. Saturday, I got up and was ready at 7:30am. I got frustrated that we weren't going sooner. We worked on Steve's garage for just over 2 hours. He just had 5 boxes left to sort through, but he was done for the day. Ok, save that for Sunday.
We then went to Max's Opera Cafe off US101 at the Broadway exit. They've changed their menu to have one whole page of low carb items. Kewl. Comes with "Caesar Slaw" as the side dish for most items. I had the California Chicken Melt. First really good low carb menu item that has filled me up.
Sunday we got a pretty slow start. By the time Steve was ready, it was lunchtime, so we went to Castro Street Fair to walk around and get a bite to eat. Then we went to Steve's. He finished sorting through stuff while I hauled out boxes and boxes of trash to the driveway. I then hauled the moving boxes from the house to the garage. That didn't take too very long, and we returned home. Due to the fair, there was no parking nearby. Steve left me on by the apartment to unload the trunk. I brought it inside. He returned about 20 minutes later having finally found a parking spot.
This morning, Steve went to his house, and BFI had hauled away all the trash except for the 3 boxes of hazardous stuff. Kewl. That's pretty much what we were expecting. Steve called some haulers to take the hazardous stuff. The movers showed up and they dropped off Steve's washing machine to Daly City for that guy from Craigslist. Steve got his asking price plus $10 extra for having it delivered. The movers got to the flat and moved the other refrigerator downstairs. Steve's fridge barely fits upstairs. I had sawed off the bottom part of one of the cabinets, and that made it mostly fit. I'll file down another few millimeters, and it should be able to slide over the couple more inches to butt up against the stove. Kewl.
Steve signs the papers tomorrow, moves some fishing gear to his boat, and then I think all that is left is for the maid service to do a final cleaning. Nearly all moved now. Woohoo!
