Doctor appointment

fuzzygrufI went to the doctor for a follow-up appointment today. It was great just to have the splint removed and let the leg breathe for a few minutes!
The doctor washed off the leg with alcohol. "I only do this for the nice patients." I laughed. "No, really." Ha! She's very nice, and I'm glad she's treating me.
She said that the wound is "beautiful." She said that there was no bruising. I found out that I did get staples and not sutures.
She wrapped up my leg in splints again. I go next week to see if the staples come out. If they do come out, then I'll get a more permanent plaster cast. If not, I continue to return each week.
For pain, she suggested taking naproxen in addition to the Vicodin. "Don't be a hero!"
She signed the papers for my Muni disability card and for the DMV placard.
She also gave me a note to take to my boss: "Estimated full return to work date on 12/15/2007."
