Another hump day gone without a hump. Hmmmm. I got an email from Double-0-Steven. Seems someone tried to steal his wallet on the subway. Steve knocked it out of the guys hand and got it back. Last year in Bali he had things stolen. Everyone wants a piece of my man! That's what you get for having a nice piece.

After work, I drove down to Steve's house. A minivan was in the driveway, so I parked in the visitor space. I tried to open the garage door, but the said minivan was blocking it. I went to the front door to find it open. I walked in and found a woman in the kitchen. She was there to water the plants. I started packing up some things. When she was done, she made me "prove" I should be there, so I had her move the minivan, and I opened the garage door. I feel better that she checked that I wasn't some burglar.

I packed up two boxes of kitchen items. I loaded those, the TV, and a few more items into the car. It's probably going to take us a dozen more trips to move everything unless we rent a U-haul truck. Steve's car just doesn't hold much.

I drove down to Palo Alto for ECR. I found my way there via 280. I hate 101. 280 is less busy, and is far more scenic. I was a bit early, so I stopped in a stripmall parking lot and got a lottery ticket at the liquor store. I then sat in the car and reviewed Advanced definitions.

Got to the church right at 6:30pm. They had enough for one square for Advanced review, so I sat and watched before being recruited to haul in a cooler. Roz, Eric, and I then started up a phantom square. After a few minutes, we were joined by others. Even Andy joined as my partner. Our square did better than the other one.

At 7pm, it was time for the actual Advanced class. I sat and watched them square up. They needed one more for a second square, so I joined them. I was afraid that I'd screw up, but I did fine. After the first break, I squared up again. Rick LaRue showed up, so he joined my square as my partner. He did a doubletake and mentioned that this was the A2 class, right? I just nodded. He took it in stride. They taught a couple new calls for the class, and I did them much better than some of the class members. (That is pretty sad.) Rick tried to help some others, then told me that he saw that I knew what I was doing. Rick's a strong dancer, so his praise is appreciated. The Advanced class ended at 7:30pm so that the Intro class could start. It was Intro the rest of the night except for one Plus demo. I believe that they had over 20 new people show up for the Intro. Wow! Pretty big crowd. I can't imagine what it was like during the busier days of the dot.com boom.

I found my way back home via 280 just fine. I unloaded the car, checked email, then headed to bed.

I checked my lottery ticket online a few minutes ago. I didn't win again. What's up with that? Oh, when I tried to verify the numbers via the "official" CA Lottery website, I found that it was blocked by the work filter. Bastards. Guess they don't want us to find out that we won and then quit. Not too hard to find the results elsewhere, though. I also found out that Friendster is blocked. Guess work frowns on friendships as well. However, after getting the "blocked" message, I hit the back button and it took me right into Friendster. Odd.
