C2 with Topcats
Sep. 21st, 2004 11:01 amSteve made dinner, then I caught Muni to Don's. It was just Don & I, so we headed down a few minutes earlier than usual since I caught the 6:15pm instead of 6:30pm bus.
Watching the C3A dancing had my head spinning. I really need to buckle down and study those definitions. Class starts in less than two weeks.
The C2 dancing was fine. We had two squares all night. At one point, we had enough for three squares, but Stephanie decided to leave right then. Right after some loud words with Jim. Hmmmm.
John saw right away that people were having problems with Criss Cross Your Neighbor, so he called it a billion times. Yawn. Hopefully it helped. After learning Harlan's hinge technique, I've never had a problem with that call. There's an extra optional WHOOP portion, but none of the straight dancers would do it with me. DG and I ended up in the same square, so we made sure we were opposites so that we could WHOOP. Naturally, John never put us in the position to whoop. Big whoop.
John called some great OFFSET Lines/Waves stuff that I screwed up. Made me think and got me to learn, so it was worth the trip.
