The Kite Runner
Jan. 2nd, 2010 12:11 amSteve and I watched "The Kite Runner" tonight. I had no idea what the story was about. (I'm kinda glad that I didn't, as I might not have watched.)
Much of the story was in Afghanistan during the 70's and 80's. I was in the Army in the 80's during which time the Soviets occupied Afghanistan (and the CIA was training Bin Laden). My job in the Army was analyzing encrypted Soviet radio signals.( Read more... )
I'm glad that I didn't see this movie on the big screen. It was better to watch it and feel uncomfortable in my own home. It's not too great knowing that things in Afghanistan are as messed up as ever.
