Shortest day is longest day
Dec. 21st, 2009 09:06 pmSolstice schmoltice. Today was long.
It was busy in the clinic today. One provider had double-booked four different slots, and she started the day by showing up 20 minutes late. WTF?
Patients do seem a bit more pissy when stressed by the holidays. Delays of an hour or more were too common today. Some providers don't care that they waste patients' time. It's aggravating to see that. Pisses me off, too.
One co-worker was on vacation today, and another left early for a doctor appointment. That meant that I had to room patients all day. That's pretty physical, but it was also stressful knowing that I wasn't processing messages on the computer. I can't trust my co-workers to be quick enough to get the stuff done or do "my" stuff. But, I'm not in charge of scheduling/managing, so I shouldn't stress about it. There's some guilt, but I keep having to tell myself that it's not my fault.
The co-worker who had the doctor appointment was sent to the hospital, so she's out tomorrow and Wednesday. Tomorrow is busy as well, and now we only have 4 out of 8 clinical staff scheduled. OMG, I could call in sick tomorrow and really screw 'em. Too funny. *cough*
Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday are supposed to be light. We'll see.
