Surgery was fine
Nov. 7th, 2009 11:08 amI was told that my surgery went just fine. Afterwards, my oxygen saturation levels kept dropping from high 90's to around 80. Not sure why. They did keep me in bed a little longer because of that. The nurse gave me a couple Norco to deal with the post-surgery pain. A prescription was called in to my pharmacy as well.
I was discharged about 8:15pm. We didn't catch a cab until after 9pm, though. Steve was starving. I hadn't eaten since 11:30pm the night before, so I was a tad hungry myself.
I was a bit loopy last night, but feeling pretty good all things considered. We watched Project Runway, then I went to bed. I woke up around 2am. The dressing had come off the wound. There was no way to replace it, so I called the oncall doctor. He just had me put some gauze around the area. The dressing was supposed to come off today anyhow.
I slept pretty well, even with an ice pack on the surgical wound. I've got a bit of an anesthesia hangover today, but I've yet to take any pain pills.
I'm gonna stay in for lunch in a bit, but I may see if Steve will let me go out to Starbears (with icepack) later today. Again, I'm pretty surprised I'm not flat on my back. I've been doing my spirometry exercises, and trying not to move too much, but I'm feeling pretty dang "normal." Huzzah.
