Forecast is for thunder to end at 10am, then bring out some sunshine. Sunny at 71 at noon! *crosses fingers*

Hope the weather holds up and hope to see you at Dolores Park (SE corner by palm trees) from 12-2pm today for the LJ picnic.

(I told [livejournal.com profile] sfkev that I ordered the thunder just for a prelude for the picnic. It's all about special effects, right?)

Although the weather is supposed to improve, it has been suggested that the picnic be canceled due to muddy conditions. If you have a paid LJ account, feel free to cross-post the poll. (It will aggregate results.)

[Poll #1456594]

If we get more than a dozen NO votes by 11am, then I'll still plan on attending and will post another message at that time.

EDIT: Votes at 11am: 12 Yes, 6 No. See update for alternative.

Hmmm....

It's pretty darn moist outside. I'm thinking of an indoor alternative.

Due to the icky park conditions, the LJ picnic has been canceled for today.

As an alternative, Steve and I will host a get-together at our home from 12:30pm-3pm for those still wishing to gather.

Please note, the maid had the day off....for the last five years.

I'll post our address on a friends-only post and on Facebook. If you don't have access to either and would like to attend, please leave a comment, and I'll get it to you.

For those taking the #33 bus, the nearest stop is 18th & Hattie. (Then get to our street via Clover.)

Dolores Park has a no-alcohol rule. That isn't the same for my place. Feel free to bring Miller Chill BYOB.

No RSVP needed. Hope to see you at 12:30pm or so.

The sun came out around 3pm today. My shoes are still damp from raking the backyard this morning.

If someone wants to organize a postponed LJ picnic, be my guest. The online permit app is pretty easy, but they only review them every couple of weeks.

After the surprise rain today, I'm pretty much over picnic organizing. There's not too much to it, but I'm a slacker. Just pick a date and get a permit. If you can get more than one person to cross-post about it, even better!

I've recently exchanged emails with a friend from high school & college. We hadn't communicated since way back then.

He said that he remembered me as being kind. WTF? I think I can be thoughtful and sweet, but I never would have considered myself "kind" at any age. It dawned on me today, "Kill them with kindness." AHA! It's time for me to start trying that kindness angle. No fingerprints this time.
