I'm big in Algiers
Apr. 10th, 2009 06:49 amOn Thursday, we took a bus tour of D.C. We also went to the White House Visitor Center.
We were walking back to the Metro station, and we went by the John A. Wilson Building, home of the government of the city of Washington, DC. Steve pointed out that this is where they voted this week to recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere.
As we were passing, we noticed an interview taking place with openly gay DC councilmember Jim Graham. We stopped to listen. They were discussing same-sex marriage. Mr. Graham was very eloquent and enthusiastic.
The cameraman had spotted us watching. He told the interviewer to nab us after the councilmen's interview. They had been talking about same-sex married couples visiting from out-of-state, so we were happy to oblige them with real specimens.
The interview will air on Sunday on Al Arrabiya New Channel. For some reason, the hotel doesn't have that channel.
