[livejournal.com profile] double_ohsteven woke me up at 2:30am. He needed to go to the hospital. He was having a miscarriage complications from penis reduction surgery a procedure he had done about a week ago.

Of course, the doctor didn't tell Steve beforehand that there were chances of this complication. Going to ER was the right thing to do, and they admitted him for observation. Turns out that after last week's procedure, "only" 1 in 200 people develop spontaneous penis regeneration this problem. The odds aren't really too astonishing, but I did go out and buy him a lottery ticket for tonight. Some labwork revealed additional complications, but Steve bounced back. They discharged him at 4pm, and now we're home.

No meds during the visit. No meds on discharge. What's the point??! :-) Discharged with instructions for a bland diet for the week, and discontinue birth control pills for 14 days. He's gonna be okay.
