An actual good week at work
Nov. 1st, 2008 08:18 amWork hours have been changed. I now get to leave a half hour earlier, at 4:30pm. This will really help me be able to schedule additional evening classes. Yay.
After more than a year without a contract, my bargaining unit (union, of which I'm not a member) finally came to an agreement with the university. Looks like I'll get an increase, along with back pay for a year. This came days after we got word that there would be NO raises.
I got my annual evaluation this week. My boss said that I'm "phenomenal." I think she meant that in a good way. Steve pointed out that a tsunami is also a phenomenon. My eval also included a written evaluation from Dr. G (I'm her clinical assistant). It was glowing. I was absent a lot this year due to disability for my leg and jury duty. She mentioned that my absence was greatly noticed. Things didn't run nearly as well during my absence. One sentence says, "He is able to figure out and navigate the UC system in ways I'm sure I don't appreciate." Steve pointed out the sentence could be restructured, "I really don't appreciate the way..." LOL. Kinda like those backhanded "recommendation" letters that go "You'll be lucky to have him work for you."
